This deal gives you a lot of possibilities.
You can travel to Costa Rica for under $400 from practically any part of the U.S., including nonstop routes from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Juan Santamara International Airport (SJO).

There are additional flights under $400 to Costa Rica from other airports with a layover, such as Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
Every flight that is available to Guanacaste Airport (LIR) has a layover, according to our research.

The following examples stand out:

    • Copa: Starting at $235, flights depart Miami International Airport (MIA) for SJO (includes a layover in Panama City).

    • American: Prices start at $322 and depart from DCA for SJO.

    • American: Prices start at $323 and fly from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to LIR (includes a layover in Miami).

We advise using Google Flights to check flight availability for your desired travel dates before making a direct reservation with your preferred airline.

Booking with an airline is more dependable in the event of a delay, cancellation, or alteration in the original booking.
Additionally, since Google Flights offers third-party booking choices, pricing on Google Flights can occasionally be less expensive than those offered by airlines.

JetBlue, for instance, is offering a round-trip nonstop flight for $326 from JFK to SJO during the first week of February.

Although this flight to SJO is inexpensive, it doesn't offer many extras.
For instance, this flight is for JetBlue's Blue Basic fare level, which prohibits you from choosing a seat or bringing a full-sized carry-on bag.
Upgrade to Blue for $406 round trip if you want those benefits included in your rate.

Different trips included in this offer are for basic economy fare types on other airlines, such as United and Delta, and their baggage regulations differ from one airline to the next.
United Airlines costs $35 for checked bags, while Delta and American Airlines charge $30.
The first bag is subject to these fees.

For instance, the basic economy round-trip price on the following Delta flight from LAX to SJO in early May is slightly over $350.

You cannot choose a seat or make any modifications to your flight when you purchase a basic economy fare from Delta.
The economy basic option does not allow SkyMiles Medallion Status credit for Delta SkyMiles members.

Enhance your purchase

Use a credit card that offers bonus points for booking flights, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar on flights booked directly with an airline or through American Express Travel), Citi Prestige® Card (5 points per dollar on flights), Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve (3 points per dollar on flights), and American Express® Gold Card (3 points per dollar on flights booked directly), on up to $500,000 of these purchases each year (2 points per dollar on travel).

In conclusion

Given that round-trip airline tickets to Costa Rica may sometimes cost at least $650, even if the flights don't have many perks, they still represent a fantastic value.

Act quickly to take advantage of this offer because at the time of writing, there were just a few tickets left on the routes we looked at.
