Book now: $287 one-way on American Airlines to Tokyo.

DEALS - 15-02-2023

This fall, American Airlines has some incredible discounts in Japan.
Some full-service carriers have responded with competitive pricing since Zipair began offering one-way tickets for around $400.

Recent price reductions by American Airlines have affected nonstop service between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND).
Even at the lowest fares, you are eligible for a free checked bag.

Basics of deals

Airline: American Airlines.

Routes: Los Angeles to Tokyo.

To make a reservation: Use Google Flights and contact the airline directly.

Travel dates: From August to October.

Flight examples

The basic economy fares are the least expensive tickets in this deal.

A basic economy ticket is available for $287 on a few specific dates.
It's significant to remember that these tickets do not allow for revisions.
Nevertheless, a checked bag is provided.
You can reserve a Main Cabin ticket and benefit from an earlier boarding schedule, free seat selection, and waived change fees for an extra $30.

Additionally, premium economy fares are an option.

Premium economy rates include an improved meal, priority boarding, and security in addition to a wider seat and an additional 7 inches of legroom from the normal economy.

Enhance your purchase

If you book this deal, be sure to use a credit card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express (5 points per dollar spent on airfare booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel, on up to $500,000 on these purchases per calendar year), the Citi Prestige® Card (5 points per dollar spent on airfare) or the Citi Premier® Card or Chase Sapphire Reserve (both 3 points per dollar spent on airfare). Or, try the American Express® Gold Card (3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly through the airline or Amex Travel) or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2 points per dollar spent on travel).

In conclusion

Although I'm not proud of it, I've paid close to $287 for flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
For the same cost, you can reserve a seat on American Airlines for travel to Japan.

To further cut out-of-pocket costs, think about using your points and miles to fly home from Japan using return rates.
