Deal alert for Mexico: fly for as little as $220 round-trip to Puerto Vallarta

DEALS - 10-10-2022

While many tourists are constantly searching for excellent deals to Cancun, Mexico, there are many other wonderful locations with access to opulent resorts and beaches in the region.
On Mexico's west coast, one such location is Puerto Vallarta.
A few U.S. locations are currently offering some fantastic offers that could help you fill out your fall travel plans or let you spend a few days in a warmer location during the chilly winter.

Right now, round-trip tickets to Puerto Vallarta are available for less than $300 from a number of U.S. cities, and in some cases much less. For instance, we found a $220 fare out of New York City.

The Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, and the Westin Resort and Spa, Puerto Vallarta are just a few of the fantastic places to stay at the Mexican vacation spot.

Although a lengthy stopover is certainly not necessary to find a good deal, you could fly Mexico's flag carrier Aeromexico, a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, and make a stop in Mexico City along the way if that interests you.

Traveling in November and early December is fantastic since there are fewer people at airports and destinations, and flying to a warm region is even better because it's getting much cooler in much of the United States.

Basics of Deals

Airlines: Aeromexico, American, Delta, United, JetBlue.

Routes to Puerto Vallarta from New York, Austin, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Sample Flights

We took note of cheap round-trip flights to Puerto Vallarta.
Our search included both direct and connecting flights, with a concentration on brief layovers.
However, you could easily find a schedule that works for you if you wanted to spend 10 hours exploring Austin or a day in Mexico City.

We found the following routes and prices:

    • JetBlue offers a $220 fare from New York to Puerto Vallarta.

    • Austin to Puerto Vallarta for $230 on American

    • United offers a $260 round-trip flight from Los Angeles to Puerto Vallarta.

    • $277 on Aeromexico from Houston to Puerto Vallarta

First, let's take a look at the New York schedule.
With a Tuesday departure and return, this tour takes place in the first half of November.
As is common knowledge, planning trips that include Tuesday and Wednesday flights can be a fantastic way to save money on travel, and in this case you do.

The mid-morning departure for the five hours and forty-five minute nonstop trip leaves from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and arrives in Mexico at 2:15 p.m. local time.

Austin may come in second place to New York in terms of availability for deals in this price bracket.
Here is a schedule for American Airlines travel at the very start of November.
You can take the two-hour nonstop flights for $230 round trip, which will bring you to Puerto Vallarta in the middle of the morning on the return journey.

There is a good deal of availability on Aeromexico out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but we also spotted some availability on big domestic airlines, including this round-trip from LAX with nonstop flights on United Airlines.
This route is intended for right after the new year.

While waiting, Aeromexico will unquestionably be your best option for flights leaving the Houston region.
Additionally, the greatest offers actually tended to be more seasonal for both LAX and Houston, with the lowest rates in January and February.

On the outward and return travels, you will make pauses in Mexico City for around two hours and an hour, respectively.

Enhance your purchase

Don't forget to use a credit card that gives you bonus points when you buy airline tickets, like The Platinum Card® from American Express, which gives you 5 points for every dollar you spend on airline tickets booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel (up to $500,000 in purchases per year).
When booking flights directly with the airline or through Amex Travel, the Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and American Express® Gold Card all earn 3 points for every dollar spent on airfare.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, meanwhile, awards two points for every dollar spent on travel.

In conclusion

Puerto Vallarta will continue to be warm, travel to the Mexican city is simple, and flight costs there are now reasonable.
This is undoubtedly something to take into account if you've been looking for the ideal fall or winter vacation.
