Three extra months have been added to one of the best cruise offers of the season.
AmaWaterways, a river cruise service, said on Wednesday that if passengers booked a cruise by the end of March, they would receive a multiday land excursion worth thousands of dollars for free.
The deal is an extension of a brief campaign that the river cruise operator launched in October and that was supposed to finish on December 31.
Customers of AmaWaterways who reserve specific Egypt, Mekong, and Europe river itineraries set to depart in 2023 are eligible to get a free pre-or post-cruise land tour package as an add-on to a cruise.
In a new twist to the offer, travelers who book five or more accommodations in a group on a 2024 sailing may also be qualified for the complimentary tours while making travel arrangements through a travel agent.
The booking now needs to be made by March 31 in order to be eligible for the extended deal.
The free add-on land tours that are available range from two to four nights in length and include:
• A three-night tour to Italy's Lake Como. The tour, which costs $1,440 per person, can be added for free to some Rhine river cruises.
• A two-night tour of Budapest, Hungary. Valued at $840 per person, the tour is available as a free add-on to select seven-night Danube sailings.
• A four-night tour that spends two nights each in the Swiss cities of Lucerne and Zurich.
The tour, which has a value of $1,680 per person, can be added for free to a few seven-night Rhine river cruises.
• A three-night sightseeing trip in Prague, Czech Republic.
The tour, which has a value of $1,320 per person, can be added for free to a few seven-night Danube and Rhine river cruises.
There are a total of 15 different add-on trips available as part of the campaign, all of which can be paired with different itineraries.
Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Vienna, Bangkok, and Dubai are other locations where the add-ons are offered at no additional cost.
The promotion offers discounts of up to $3,800 per couple, depending on the add-on trip that is bought.
Each land vacation package includes hotel lodging, breakfast each morning, transportation between the hotels and the ship, as well as sightseeing excursions and city tours.
AmaWaterways is also providing customers with a 10% discount off the price of a cruise when they reserve a second straight cruise for 2023, resulting in a back-to-back sailing, as part of a linked campaign.
As the industry approaches the crucial "wave season" booking period, AmaWaterways is just one of many cruise lines releasing enticing deals for 2023 sailings this month.
The time, which usually starts in January, usually sees a spike in cruise bookings.
For instance, as part of a wave season special, Celebrity Cruises is offering seven-night sailings for as cheap as $239 per person.
Norwegian Cruise Line has advertised trips starting at a little $37 per day.
