Deals on flights to Cancun are still available for the late summer.

DEALS - 20-07-2022

According to conventional wisdom, it's getting close to being too late to find a great price on summer flight to a well-liked location.
However, you never know when something might appear, and that's what we have in this situation.
You might be able to locate airfare to Cancun for a lot less money if you act quickly and reserve.

Beginning in August and continuing through the beginning of the fall, we discovered round-trip travel to Cancun on legacy U.S. carriers at or below the $300 threshold (much below, in several cases).

Are you prepared to travel with just a backpack for the weekend and bring the bare minimum of clothing?
On a low-cost airline, you might be able to find a ticket for around $160.

Cancun is a well-known travel destination for Americans because it is close to the U.S. mainland and has several resorts that accept points for booking.
It's a terrific destination to come when the weather at home is chilly, but a late summer vacation is also acceptable.

You've already gone on your major summer vacation, but are you still looking for ways to fill the rest of your travel schedule?
Take advantage of this offer quickly before the price rises.

Basics of deals

American, United, JetBlue, Frontier, Spirit, Viva Aerobus, and Volaris are some of the airlines.

Routes to Cancun include those through Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Charlotte, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Miami, New York, and Orlando.

Booking options include going directly to the airlines or using Google Flights.

August through October are prime travel months.

Flight examples

Flights under $300 were noted, with a clear preference for round-trip costs much below that amount.

There's a strong chance that as you search, you'll find round-trip tickets on some of the budget airlines, like Spirit Airlines and Frontier, that seem to be substantially less expensive than the flights on the traditional airlines.
After all is said and done, it might still be less expensive, but when comparing costs, be sure to consider "add-on" fees like baggage and seat selection.

We particularly enjoy this bargain because of two factors.
One is that there is availability from numerous American cities.
Examine airfares to Cancun even if your city isn't one of the ones listed below.
If you can be flexible about the days you travel, there might be some good offers available.

There are also many inexpensive options for the end of summer.
Deals could become available as early as the first or second week of August.

Here are a handful of the possible itineraries we discovered:

    • JetBlue offers a $298 fare from New York City to Cancun.

    • Frontier offers a $158 round-trip ticket from Miami to Cancun.
    • Take American for $228 from Miami to Cancun.

    • Cancun to Dallas/Fort Worth for $228 on American.

    • Take American for $276 from Austin to Cancun.

    • JetBlue offers a $268 trip from Orlando to Cancun.

    • $194 round-trip on United from Houston to Cancun.

    • For $267 on American, fly from New Orleans to Cancun.

    • Take United and Volaris for $253 from Chicago to Cancun.

Let's start by examining one of the quickest flights and most affordable costs in this package: departures from Houston.

United Airlines offers round-trip travel from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) for $194.
Given Houston's position, traveling to Cancun takes only about 2 1/2 hours.
The middle of August is exactly when this route takes place.

American Airlines offers nonstop round trips between $200 and $300 from both Austin and the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

With flights between 2 1/2 and 3 hours, this late-August itinerary departing from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) costs $228.

A flight to Cancun takes less than two hours from Miami International Airport (MIA).
Near the end of August, you can book a round trip flight on American Airlines for as little as $228.

Additionally, Frontier offers nonstop service between the two cities at that time for as little as $158 as a base fare.
However, even a full-sized carry-on bag would cost you at least $70 in fees.

Travelers from New York have a variety of options on low-cost airlines.

JetBlue offers flights for less than $300 as well.
This $298 itinerary has a Labor Day departure from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City, with a nonstop flight to Mexico taking just under four hours.
