Deals on premium economy travel to Copenhagen on Delta, Air France, and KLM for less than $1,000

DEALS - 20-09-2022

Copenhagen is a fantastic place to visit with amazing food, art, and architecture in addition to being ranked as the most sustainable destination of 2022.

Great rates in premium seating later this fall and over the winter are another reason to plan a trip to the Scandinavian city.
Right now, premium economy round-trip tickets are available from some East Coast cities for around $1,000, which is a great deal considering that such flights can run you up to $2,000 or more round-trip.

While there is undoubtedly a lot to do in Copenhagen, you could also use your flight as a jumping off point to explore other cities in Denmark or as a launching pad to go to other regions of Europe.

Having access to a little extra comfort while traveling to and from Europe on board one of the three SkyTeam airlines, Delta, Air France, and KLM, is undoubtedly helpful.

Grab your coat and secure this offer before it expires if you're willing to endure Denmark's harshest winters.
If you look hard enough, you might even be able to visit a second European city for free.

Basics of Deals

Sample Flights

The offers we took note of included round-trip premium economy tickets to Copenhagen for less than $1,000.
You might be able to choose between flights on Delta Air Lines, Air France, or KLM depending on your departure city.

When you make a reservation with Delta, you'll have access to the airline's Premium Select cabin, which features wider seats, TUMI amenity kits, SkyPriority advantages, and free refreshments.

While Delta offers nonstop service from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Copenhagen Airport (CPH), Air France and KLM need you to stop in Paris or Amsterdam, respectively.

The nonstop Delta flights out of New York were the most affordable options, but Boston or the Washington, D.C. region were only $50 to $100 more expensive.

While nonstop flights are undoubtedly appealing, there may be a case for picking one that passes through Amsterdam or Paris if it offers you enough time to spend some time taking in the city's sights during your stopover.

Travel dates ranged from the late autumn through the winter and the first few days of March, so if you're not committed to a warm location for your spring 2023 trip, this offer might be a possibility.

Here are some of the choices we discovered:

    • New York to Copenhagen on Delta for $860

    • $930 on Delta from Washington, DC to Copenhagen

    • On a combination of Delta, Air France, and KLM, you can fly from Boston to Copenhagen for $929.

    • $902 from New York to Copenhagen on Air France, with a stopover in Paris

Let's start by examining the simplest and least expensive route: a nonstop flight from New York via Delta to Copenhagen.
On this early December schedule, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 767 would take you from JFK to Copenhagen at 9:25 p.m. the next day.
On the way back, the flight leaves in the late morning and arrives in New York at 4:00 p.m.

In the interim, if you want to extend your plan to include time in Paris, you can think about the following:
You'll arrive at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) little after 6:00 a.m. local time if you board an Air France Boeing 777 at Newark/Liberty International Airport (EWR) at 5:00 p.m.
Before your final trip reaches Copenhagen at 3:20 p.m., you'll have more than nine hours to explore the city.

After an overnight travel, this may seem like an ambitious goal, but you will have experienced a little more comfort on the premium economy flight over the Atlantic.
Before returning to the airport for your second flight that arrives in Copenhagen at 5:15 p.m., you could get some breakfast and lunch and take in a few quick sights in the city.
On the way back, you'll only have a four-hour stopover in Paris. Since this is longer than ideal and is probably too short to travel, it would be a good idea to use an airport lounge during this time.

Travelers from the D.C. area on Delta will typically stop at JFK before continuing on a route similar to the previously mentioned New York nonstop trip; they will only need positioning flights from Dulles International Airport (DCA), Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), or Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport(BWI) on either end of the trip.

Here's a flight option for visitors to Boston using a combination of the three SkyTeam airlines that are providing this discount.
At 5:30 p.m., an Air France flight will take off from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and land in Paris shortly after 6:00 a.m. local time.
After a brief layover, you'll board an Air France flight to Copenhagen.
Your first leg of the return journey is onboard KLM to Amsterdam (AMS).
Your return trip to Boston departs in the middle of the day on a Delta Airbus A330 after a brief stay of less than four hours.
