Flight specials to Cancun: Take advantage of the warmth this winter for less than $250 round-trip

DEALS - 17-10-2022

It's a good idea to book when you get a window where the airfare is running cheaper; it happens occasionally if you think a getaway to the warmth of Cancun might be in the cards for this approaching winter.
One of those moments is right now.

There are now a few U.S. cities where you can book a round-trip flight to the well-known Mexico destination for $250 or less.
With many more possibilities available following the start of the New Year, you can find some of the offers as early as November, which is quickly coming.

Both all-inclusive and non-inclusive resorts in Cancun provide a tonne of fantastic amenities including huge pools and easy access to the beach.

The nation's temperatures are falling, and as the year draws to a close, they won't be getting any warmer.
If you want to go on vacation to Mexico in January or February, make sure you book now before the rates go up.

Basics of Deals

Airlines: Aeromexico, American, Delta, and JetBlue.

Routes to Cancun include those from Austin, Chicago, New York, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, St. Louis, and others.

Dates of travel: from November 2022 to March 2023.

How to make a reservation: We advise using Google Flights to identify the most advantageous route, followed by direct airline reservations.

Sample Flights

We recorded round-trip tickets to Cancun (CUN) for $250 or less.
If your city isn't mentioned here, check prices from the nearest airport.
Numerous U.S. cities have round-trip flights to Cancun that are only a bit more expensive than the range we marked, including flights from Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Here are some of the selections we thought were best:

    • Austin to Cancun on American for $252.

    • On a SkyTeam alliance of Delta and Aeromexico, you may travel from Chicago to Cancun for $222.

    • Aeromexico offers a $251 flight from Denver to Cancun.

    • JetBlue costs $238 to fly from Fort Lauderdale to Cancun.

    • Take American for $243 from New York to Cancun.

    • American offers a $257 flight from St. Louis to Cancun.

Take Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to Cancun as an example of one of the quickest flights that is also reasonably priced.
On American Airlines, the southern travel is a nonstop flight that lasts around 2.5 hours.
Your trip will start shortly after the new year with this exact schedule.

There are connections on a few of these itineraries.
In fact, before choosing a specific schedule, make careful to find out how long your layover is.
I discovered choices that left from some places and seemed fantastic, but required a stopover in a U.S. airport for at least ten hours.

On this schedule, the layovers are more acceptable (though still not ideal).
You'll take a SkyTeam airline and the flag carrier of Mexico, Aeromexico, on a flight down to Cancun, departing from O'Hare International Airport (ORD).
Before the last portion of the journey, there is a brief, two-hour halt in Mexico City.
You'll have a layover at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York for more than three hours on the way back (JFK).

For these discounts, you frequently have to choose between convenience and price, so it all depends on what you're comfortable with.

Here's a much easier option: nonstop flights on JetBlue out of South Florida.
You may travel to Cancun for $238 and arrive by midday, giving you time to enjoy an afternoon on the beach.
On your return trip, you won't leave until early afternoon so you can take advantage of your resort's final hours before leaving for the airport.

Enhance your purchase

Don't forget to use a credit card that gives you bonus points when you buy airline tickets, like The Platinum Card® from American Express, which gives you 5 points for every dollar you spend on airline tickets booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel (up to $500,000 in purchases per year).
When booking flights directly with the airline or through Amex Travel, the Citi Premier® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve, and American Express® Gold Card all earn 3 points for every dollar spent on airfare.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, meanwhile, awards two points for every dollar spent on travel.

In conclusion

You want to make sure you book your airfare at a period when you can obtain the best bargains, rather than paying $400 or more round-trip, because airfares to Cancun can fluctuate as with any vacation.
Pay a far smaller amount to travel to and from Mexico, and you can start planning a warm-weather winter vacation right away.
