Fly for as little as $414 to ski the Swiss Alps this winter.

DEALS - 24-10-2022

The start of the ski season in the United States was announced last week by the first resort.
While there are bargains to be gained on domestic flights that will put you a short drive from the slopes, flying internationally won't cost you much more.

Take Switzerland as an example. You can currently fly there for less than $500, and in some cases much less, and you'll there in time to take advantage of ski season.

This can be a fantastic chance to cross off your bucket list item of skiing in the Swiss Alps.
Not to mention, you'll get to enjoy everything Switzerland has to offer throughout the winter, which is a lot, in addition to getting in some fantastic runs on the other side of the Atlantic.

This offer will help you find affordable airfare, whether you're planning a vacation for spring break, the busiest skiing season this winter, or this fall.

Basics of Deals

Airline: Delta, Air France, KLM, Icelandair, Aer Lingus, and TAP.

Routes: Chicago/New York/Washington to Zurich; Boston/Miami/New York to Geneva.

the months of November 2022 through March 2023.

How to book: We advise using Google Flights to locate your itinerary before making a direct flight reservation.

Sample Flights

We selected round-trip prices for Geneva and Zurich that were less than $500.
To be clear, there is plenty of availability around (or somewhat above) $500 if your favorite location or destination in Switzerland isn't listed and you're hoping to make a reservation.

There is undoubtedly good news with this deal if you're a fan of Delta Air Lines.
Particularly when departing from the Northeast, there is a tonne of availability on flights operated by the Atlanta-based airline and its SkyTeam partners, including KLM and Air France.

The majority of these itineraries do require a connection, and the location of that connection mostly depends on the airline you're using:
It will be in Paris if you're flying Air France; Amsterdam if you're flying KLM; Lisbon if you're flying TAP, etc.
However, when we talk about connections abroad, it might occasionally be a lengthy interruption lasting several hours.
This time, though, there are several short layovers available, so after connecting you will already be traveling to your final destination.

However, if you'd like to extend the trip a little bit more so you can take advantage of extra time in your connecting city, that's frequently possible as you book and can be an opportunity to explore a second city at no additional expense.
After all, there are some very fascinating connecting destinations here, ranging from Paris to Dublin and Iceland.

Here are just a few of the routes and costs we discovered:

    • $479 from Boston to Geneva on a flight operated by Air France and KLM

    • Chicago to Geneva

    • Miami to Geneva on Air France for $479

    • $479 from New York to Geneva on a Delta, Air France, and KLM flight combination

    • $414 on Icelandair from Washington to Zurich

Let's look at one route that departs from the New York region to get things going.
The Sky Team partners can be used in combination to get people to Geneva.
Soon after the new year, you'll fly from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on a Delta Boeing 767. You'll arrive at CDG at midday the following day.
You'll board Air France an hour later for a quick trip of just 70 minutes to Geneva (GVA).

On the way back, you'll take an 80-minute Air France short-haul flight to go back to Paris, followed by a 65-minute layover and an afternoon Delta transcontinental flight to get back to JFK.

On the other side, travelers from New York can discover even more affordable flights on Aer Lingus to get to Zurich.
The first leg of this early February schedule entails an overnight flight to Dublin Airport (DUB), with the last leg ending in Zurich following a 2.5-hour layover.
The stop on the return route lasts 3 hours, 50 minutes longer.

A round ticket on Icelandair from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is one option for Washington, D.C. area travelers trying to make it to Switzerland this ski season (BWI).
It just takes a 55-minute break before you are on your way to Zurich following the overnight trip to Iceland's Keflavik International Airport (KEF).
On the way back, there is another little break in Iceland that lasts just over an hour.

Another itinerary with Sky Team flights departing from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) on a vacation that can be used as a spring skiing break is shown below.
You may take an overnight flight from Logan to Paris for $477 using an Air France Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
You will be on your way to Geneva after a brief, hour-long stop.
You'll travel back to New England on an Airbus A330 with KLM on the return flight, stopping in Amsterdam en route.
The Amsterdam Schiphol Airport's (AMS) operations ought to be far more promising than they were last year.

It is now, as far as we're concerned.
Switzerland is one of the best countries in the world for skiing.
With really amazing availability to Zurich and/or Geneva throughout the season, you can cross off a skiing location that is on many people's bucket lists for less than $500.
