Fly for less to Europe with SAS from NYC, Boston, DC, and Chicago.

DEALS - 08-06-2023

You're in luck if you prefer a more relaxed fall or winter vacation to this summer's packed airports and tourist traps.

Nearly all of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) flights between the United States and Europe are now on sale. Tickets are valid for travel between October 2023 and March 2024.

These inexpensive flights travel to well-known European locations like Amsterdam and Paris from key U.S. hubs. However, SAS also provides inexpensive travel options to lesser-known locations including Gdansk, Poland; Bergen, Norway; and Umea, Sweden.

Costs vary from $361 to $499 depending on where you're traveling from and where you're flying to. You may easily visit several European locations in one trip by planning an open-jaw itinerary (flying to one place but departing from another). This is because there are so many route possibilities on offer.

Flight examples

The following flights' costs were current as of publication. The availability of the round-trip flights listed below cannot be guaranteed at the time of booking.

    • Starting at $383, flights connect Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) with Copenhagen Airport (CPH).

    • Starting at $398, BOS to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).

    • Starting at $429, flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Heathrow Airport (LHR).

    • Starting from $432, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Oslo Airport (OSL).

    • Starting at $409, flights from O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN).

    • Starting at $424, ORD to Brussels Airport (BRU).

    • Starting at $433 from Washington, D.C., to CPH.

Take a look at this November route from Boston to Copenhagen. You may fly on November 6 through the night, (hopefully) get some rest on the way, and arrive in Copenhagen early on Tuesday.

You would travel and return to the United States on November 12 after approximately five days of visiting the city. You'd have plenty of time to recover before your Monday workday if you took the return flight to Boston.

The SAS Go Light level of fares is included in the offer. A personal item and a larger carry-on bag are included with each ticket. Each journey will cost $75 if you wish to check a bag. Alternatively, you might pay an additional $35 each way to upgrade to the SAS Go Smart level, as those rates include checked bags.

Prices are significantly less than usual. Additionally, because you would be visiting in the shoulder season, hotels in Copenhagen will be much less expensive than they are during the summer.

If you want to take advantage of these specials by traveling to several European destinations, use Google Flights' multicity function to organize your open-jaw trip. As an illustration, consider a route from New York City to Stockholm and Oslo.

On October 8, you would leave on Saturday evening and arrive in Stockholm on Sunday. The Swedish capital could be explored from Sunday through Wednesday before you travel to Oslo by short airplane or high-speed train.

Explore Oslo till you depart for New York City early on Sunday, October 15.

Although the overall cost of the trip will only be $428, you will need to set aside money for the separate trip from Stockholm to Oslo. Fortunately, planes can cost as little as $38 between the two cities, while trains may cost as much as $60.

Enhance your purchase

Don't forget to utilize a credit card that offers extra points for buying plane tickets, like:

    • Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 2 points each $1 spent on travel.

    • American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel.

    • The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points for every dollar spent on a flight when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel, up to a maximum of $500,000 in travel-related purchases each year.

    • Citi Premier® Card: 3 points for every $1 spent on airfare.

    • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 3 points for every dollar spent on airfare.

In conclusion

With affordable flights from SAS, travel to Europe this fall or winter. This is a fantastic chance to travel to several places at once or discover hidden gems in Poland, Norway, and other nations.

To take advantage of the offer, be sure to reserve your seats as soon as you can.
