Fly to Prague in early of next year for about $450.

DEALS - 26-07-2022

There are many reasons to visit Prague, including its castles, beer, and museums (including ones dedicated to beer!).
Before the dollar's appreciation versus the euro, travelers from the United States would find Prague to be significantly less expensive than other regions of Europe.
For this reason, discovering a great flight deal is always exciting.

There are reasonable airfare options to the Czech Republic's capital city for visitors planning trips in the early part of 2023.

Round-trip tickets to Prague start at about $450 from January through March, which coincides with many tourists' spring break.

You won't run out of places to stay or things to do in the city because there are so many hotels nearby the major attractions of the city, from hotels you can book with points to really local establishments like the Hotel Cerny Slon in the centre of Old Town Square.

Basics of deals

Airlines: LOT Polish Airlines and TAP Air Portugal.

Routes to Prague: Chicago, Miami, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Dates for travel: January through March 2023 and Fall 2022.

Booking options include going directly to the airline or using Google Flights.

Flight examples

The majority of the cheap alternatives we find are for travel between early 2023 and the end of March, while there are a few rare round tickets that are under $500 between October and the end of the year.

Although you might occasionally find a possibility on another airline, such as LOT Polish Airlines, the majority of your options will be on Portuguese carrier TAP.
Thus, regardless of the American city from which you are traveling, you will pass through Lisbon, Portugal.

As you book, keep an eye on your layovers.
Less time in transit is always a plus.
The same goes for those destinations that are significantly longer in duration, giving you more opportunity to explore Lisbon and other European cities while only spending one night there.

The more difficult itinerary can involve arriving at 9 p.m. one evening and departing at 10 a.m. (or earlier) the next morning.
In addition to costing more for an additional hotel night, this will prevent you from seeing the city.
Therefore, it's crucial to carefully review the schedule.

Here are a handful of the routes and costs we discovered:

    • On TAP, New York to Prague costs $481.

    • Take TAP for $446 from Washington to Prague.

    • On TAP, Miami to Prague costs $481.

    • On TAP, Chicago to Prague costs $479.

Here is a rather simple schedule for visitors leaving from the New York region.
From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Lisbon, you'll take a night flight with a two-hour connection.
The second leg takes close to 3 1/2 hours to reach Vaclav Havel Airport Prague (PRG).
On the way back, your layover in Lisbon will be almost the same.

You'll have layovers of a comparable length after leaving Dulles International Airport if you're leaving the Washington, D.C., area (IAD).
This round-trip fare is $446 in the beginning of March, much less than round-trip flights this summer, which can occasionally cost $800 to $1,000.

Here is an example of a more ambitious itinerary for tourists planning to visit several cities in Europe while traveling from Miami.
You'll fly out of Miami International Airport (MIA) on Thursday in the late afternoon and land in Lisbon early on Friday.
Then, before leaving on Friday morning for Prague, you will have more than 24 hours to explore the city.
This allows you to have plenty of time to spend a day exploring Lisbon.

The return flight, however, has a longer layover and is less convenient.
You'll arrive in Lisbon after hours and need to spend the night there before taking a flight back to Miami around noon.
It's not ideal, but given that it results in a significantly lower airfare price, it might be worth taking into account.

In conclusion

The city is full of historic sites and cultural attractions that are worth seeing, from the Charles Bridge and Prague Astronomical Clock to the Museum of Communism, which provides insight into life in Prague for much of the 20th century.
When you can book plane travel for a reasonable price, it's even better.
This is a wonderful offer to think about, regardless of whether you're prepared to suffer the coldest months and travel right after the new year or you've already scheduled this trip for next March.
