Monday's Daily Getaways deal: VIP passes & tickets to Universal Orlando

DEALS - 26-07-2022

The second week of the annual multi-week Daily Getaways sale, which contains daily specials from well-known travel companies and offers savings of up to 50% off hotel points, theme park tickets, holiday packages, hotel stays, and more, starts on Monday.

Those who enjoy stocking up on various point categories or snagging a reduced vacation package eagerly anticipate this sale.
Over the years, many people have been successful in shopping this "travel sidewalk bargain."

This sale for 2022 began last week, and we have a preview of the daily deals from Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Marriott, and other hotels.

A fresh offer will go on sale each weekday for the following three weeks at 1 p.m. EDT.
While some deals will go practically immediately, others could last for several days or weeks.

According to our analysis, Hyatt and Marriott have the best offers from the first two weeks:
You can get World of Hyatt points for a lot less money than they are now worth, and you can get Marriott gift cards for 20 percent less money.

Unfortunately, the numbers for some of the best deals can be rather low. Check the availability before scheduling your day to buy anything that might only have a few package options.
These discounts are not transferable.

You can look at the first two weeks' offers.
Remember that the offer is only valid through August 12 or while supplies last.

Starting with the most recent sale, here is all you need to know about the Daily Getaways campaign for 2022.

Universal Orlando theme park discounts on July 25

A pair of bargains from the Universal Orlando theme park and resort kick off week two of Daily Getaways.

Three discounted Universal Orlando vacation packages will be made available by Daily Getaways starting Monday at 1 p.m. EDT. The prices are $742 for two three-day tickets to Universal Orlando (40 deals are available), $1,953 for a VIP experience for five people at Universal Orlando Resort (four deals are available), and $3,549 for a Universal Orlando vacation package for four people (five deals available).
The VIP experiences and vacation packages are in extremely limited availability, so if you're interested, you'll need to act immediately.

Depending on when you want to visit the parks, the $742 bargain for two tickets good for three days in each of the three parks may be worthwhile (or not).

Depending on the commencement date, these tickets range in price from $755 to $845 on the Universal website.
Prices start at roughly $720 on ticket resale websites, so this might not be the best offer (unless service charges and taxes change the equation).

However, two "use at any date" tickets priced at $887 each can be purchased via the Universal website, saving you $142 (or around 16%) if you're seeking for flexibility.
These tickets can be used at any time between September 1, 2022, and August 31, 2023.
The terms and restrictions specify that you must make your reservation at least 14 days in advance, thus these tickets wouldn't be suitable for a last-minute vacation.
However, the three park trips may be scheduled at any time within six days of your initial visit, giving you some flexibility.

We were drawn to the VIP experience package since it includes a private guide for a full day of fun at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal's Islands of Adventure.
Five VIP tickets are included in the Daily Getaways package for just over $1,950, or about $390 per person.

Summer Hull tried out the Universal VIP package and was pleased with her experience.

This non-private VIP tour's cost varies depending on the day.
It cost $349 per person when Summer made her reservation in the summer of 2021, but that price excludes park admission when made directly with Universal.

The Daily Getaways package averages $390 per person and includes park admission, so it's probably a better deal if you plan to bring the maximum number of guests and go during the busiest hours.

Additional travel offers that will be accessible

We carefully examined the offers for the second week of the sale to calculate the cost per point associated with each offer.

For sale are Hyatt points.

Three alternatives for purchasing World of Hyatt points will be available later this week.

The breakdown for the July 29 Hyatt promotion is as follows:

    • You can earn points at a cost of 1.3 cents each when you spend $396 to purchase 30,000 World of Hyatt bonus points.

    • You can earn points at a rate of 1.3 cents per point by spending $660 to receive 50,000 World of Hyatt bonus points.

    • You can earn points at a rate of 1.2 cents per point by spending $960 to receive 80,000 World of Hyatt bonus points.

This offer is advantageous for two reasons and perhaps irrelevant for a third.

First, the price at which you may purchase points through the Daily Getaways promotion is considerably lower than the 1.7 cents per point we currently value World of Hyatt points at.

Additionally, this is far less expensive than Hyatt's public web offering, which runs through August 1 and allows users to purchase points for 1.8 cents each.
The offer we saw in the preview is by far this one's best.

For instance, by purchasing 30,000 World of Hyatt points, you might spend two nights at the Andaz Savannah, which typically costs more than $275 per night.

By using World of Hyatt points, you can also avoid paying the destination fee of $33 per day while still receiving all the perks.

Unfortunately, only two to eight packages are offered per point quantity, turning this into more of a lottery than a real sale.

Gift cards to Marriott discounted

Beginning at 1 p.m. EDT on July 27, you may save 20% on Marriott gift cards; a $100 card will cost $80, a $250 card will cost $200, and a $500 card will cost $400.

There will be a total of more than 1,500 gift cards available, and you may buy up to three.

Similar to earlier promotions, you may spend these gift cards at participating Marriott Bonvoy brand properties, including JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton, for shopping, spa, golf, and food and beverage purchases.

You don't have to stay at the hotel to use these gift cards; they can also be used to make purchases from Marriott.
They basically work like money.
We have heard of isolated instances where computer systems struggle to accept them, so give them some time before using them.
Gift certificates from Marriott never expire.

How to buy

Simply visit the Daily Getaways website every morning and look for the package you like.
However, as previous offers swiftly sold out, be sure to move soon.

How should I pay for Daily Getaways with my credit card?

Purchases made through Daily Getaways have in the past been categorized as general travel.

Use a credit card with a category bonus for general travel instead, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve (3 points per dollar), Ink Business Preferred Credit Card (3 points per dollar on the first $150,000 in combined purchases each account anniversary, then 1 point per dollar), Chase Sapphire Preferred Card (2 points per dollar), or Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (2 miles per dollar).

In conclusion

Thanks to the Daily Getaways program's return, you can discover fresh discounts every day through August 12 — including up to 50% off hotel stays, theme park tickets, and vacation packages.

Review the daily specials and make sure to take advantage of those that catch your eye because there are only a few of each available.
