In order to participate in the Double Points campaign, you must first register here.
Once registered, you must buy a rail ticket for travel starting today and ending on October 31, 2022, and use that ticket during specified times.
You are eligible to receive an unlimited number of bonus points as part of this campaign. 

The value of Amtrak Guest Rewards points is high.
They have the highest point value of any award money at 2.5 cents.
They aren't as simple to earn as other currencies, though, at the same time.
For instance, none of the popular credit card schemes allow for direct point transfers.

Although Amtrak points can be transferred to a few different hotel loyalty programs, booking train travel is the greatest use for them.
Reward prices are roughly correlated with the cash price of the ticket.
You should utilize your points on journeys when the cheapest saver-level tickets are unavailable to get the most value out of them. 

Use a travel rewards card that offers extra points for train fares to purchase the tickets if you decide to take advantage of the offering.
