A cutting-edge new narrow-body business-class cabin is unveiled by Flydubai.

NEWS - 08-05-2023

There are a few single-aisle aircraft that offer excellent business-class amenities, but this is not the norm. Consider the newest aircraft from Flydubai.

The Dubai-based airline said earlier this week that many of its most recent Boeing 737 aircraft will have "The Business Suite," a brand-new cabin feature, later this year.

Only 10 suites will be arranged in a 1-1 layout in the five-row cabin, providing every passenger direct aisle access. You'll have the maximum privacy possible on a single-aisle plane owing to sliding doors, and each 21-inch-wide seat will face away from the aisle in a reverse herringbone pattern.

Electronically dimmable windows, spacious storage areas, ambient mood lighting, and 17-inch 4K entertainment screens with wireless Bluetooth connectivity are some more bells and whistles.

Of course, with the touch of a button, each seat can be transformed into a 75-inch-long bed.

There are universal AC outlets, USB-A, USB-C, and Qi-wireless charging pads at each seat for connectivity.

This new item, known as the Safran Vue, was created in association with Safran Seats and JPA Design, and Flydubai will serve as its debut client.

The new product's main objective is to compete with the business-class experience on wide-body aircraft. Due to all the extra volume in the pointed end of the aircraft, these jets often provide more roomy premium cabins, according to Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith.

These seats appear to be some of the best single-aisle seats available anywhere in the world based on the renderings.

The first Boeing 737 with this redesigned cabin is anticipated to enter service in November, and five more are anticipated by the first quarter of 2024. Though Flydubai teased that "they'll be scheduled on select longer flights" around the network, it is unknown exactly what routes these aircraft will travel.

According to Cirium timetables, Flydubai's three longest itineraries are a roughly seven-hour flight from Dubai to Krabi, Thailand; Pattaya, Thailand; and Bergamo, Italy (close to Milan).

Though this snazzy new product will be offered on six of Flydubai's aircraft, the remaining aircraft are set up with a combination of three additional business-class cabins.

The oldest model, which was introduced in 2013, is a glorified recliner seat. Then, in connection with its debut flights using the Boeing 737 MAX, the airline made the first-ever introduction of lie-flat seats.

A cutting-edge new reclining seat was presented by Flydubai in 2021.

Flydubai is undoubtedly attempting to improve the onboard experience, but this does come at the sacrifice of product consistency. There are four business-class goods in total, operating across a fleet of 76 jets.
