Avalo adds three more cities to its route map while eliminating two others.

NEWS - 27-02-2023

The presence of Avelo Airlines keeps expanding.

The low-cost carrier, which debuted in 2021, will expand its network to three locations: Charlottesville, Virginia; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Brownsville, Texas.

Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) and Colorado Springs Airport (COS) will be served by Avelo flights from its base at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), the Houston-based carrier's initial home-state destinations.

On May 3, there will be three daily flights between Burbank and Colorado Springs: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
On May 17, Avelo intends to begin flying between Brownsville and Burbank twice weekly on Wednesdays.

Starting on May 17, Avelo will also start operating flights between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Brownsville.

Starting on May 3, the low-cost airline will also provide service between Orlando and Charlottesville Albemarle Airport (CHO).
On Mondays and Fridays, according to Avelo, there will be flights between Orlando and Charlottesville.

Avelo added that after the launch from Brownsville, it will be the only airline providing nonstop service between SpaceX's new South Texas spaceport and the company's headquarters in Los Angeles and the Space Coast in Florida (which is approximately an hour away from Orlando).

By providing nonstop flights to well-known vacation spots since its founding in 2021, Avelo has greatly expanded its network.
The new airline already has bases in Wilmington, Delaware; Burbank; New Haven, Connecticut; and Orlando.

Since its initial trip from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Orlando, Avelo has made a big sensation in Wilmington.
Delaware was the only state in the US without regularly scheduled passenger service prior to Avelo's arrival; Frontier Airlines was the last airline to fly into the state.

Although Avelo's network has lost certain destinations, it has expanded dramatically during the last two years.
Avelo announced that it will depart from Kentucky's Blue Grass Airport and Virginia's Newport News-Williamsburg Airport (PHF) on April 17. (LEX).

On February 21, the final Avelo flight from Lexington, Kentucky, departed.

According to an Avelo spokesperson, the airline chose to discontinue the two services since neither market was experiencing sufficient demand.
The airline had been failing in future bookings, particularly for Newport News.
Customers who have reserved flights out of Newport News after April 17 will automatically receive a refund from Avelo.
