Finally, United will inaugurate a Polaris Lounge in Denver.

NEWS - 24-05-2023

Every domestic hub airport served by United Airlines will soon have a Polaris Lounge.

Denver International Airport (DEN), the sole domestic hub for the airline without a Polaris Lounge, will change "in a couple of years," according to CEO Scott Kirby.

In the recently opened Concourse A-West extension, the new Polaris Lounge will be situated between Gates A18 and A20.

Although the Polaris Lounge hasn't been built yet, Kirby seems to have finished enough of the planning for the airline to make the significant news on Tuesday.

At the "United Next in Denver" event on Tuesday, Kirby announced that the audience was "standing in the area that will... become the new Polaris club in a couple of years."

Kirby's comments line up with United's significant, Denver-focused expansion that was revealed earlier on Tuesday morning. There are 35 new flights, six new routes, three new United Clubs with updates, 12 new gates, and many more.

United has traditionally placed a high focus on expanding in Denver. Southwest Airlines, which has been growing in Mile High City both before and after the coronavirus pandemic, presents the airline with fierce competition in the local market.

While the Denver expansion is wonderful news for anyone who lives in the city or goes there frequently, the carrier will soon commemorate a milestone that has taken a long time to arrive.

Late in 2016, United introduced the first Polaris Lounge in Chicago. Since then, the company has added more locations for business-class travelers in Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.

Denver was the only domestic holdout, and it was uncertain whether United would ever construct a Polaris Lounge there. This is due to the fact that Denver's long-haul service has primarily been constrained to a small number of routes to important destinations like London and Tokyo.

However, a large number of travelers begin their Polaris journey in Denver, so having this first-class lounge will be a significant improvement to the network and the airport.

The Denver Polaris Lounge was not given any additional information on Tuesday, but we'll be sure to update this article as we find out more.

Denver Flyers have reason to be happy in the near future because three newly renovated clubs will soon begin operations. The final one in B-West won't be finished until 2024, but two will debut this summer—one in A-West and one in B-East.

United's lounge space in Denver will increase significantly from its current footprint to roughly 100,000 square feet overall.

In the newly constructed and renovated clubs, the carrier has teased Colorado-themed amenities and seating places. The Concourse B lounges will include the two largest spaces in the United Club network, each measuring 36,500 square feet.

Notably, Denver also serves as the location of the airline's first (and only) Club Fly, a little outpost created for travelers with quick connections. Along with a modest coffee bar, United Club Fly provides a variety of grab-and-go snacks and drinks.
