Heathrow Terminal 3 will soon have a new Qantas first-class lounge.

NEWS - 22-02-2023

The largest Australian airline, Qantas, has disclosed plans for a brand-new first-class lounge that will open in 2025 at London's Heathrow Airport (LHR).

It will follow in the footsteps of the Qantas First Lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Melbourne Airport (MEL), Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), and Sydney Airport (SYD), completing a quartet for the airline (SYD).

It is being constructed to coincide with the introduction of nonstop Project Sunrise flights between London and Sydney or Melbourne when travelers will be able to travel nonstop between the two nations in 20 hours.

When the elite lounge opens in T3, the well-known Qantas Lounge (which is now located in a different area of the terminal) will transform into a specifically designated international business lounge.

With our direct Project Sunrise flights on the way, London is one of our busiest travel hubs and the ideal site for a First Lounge, according to Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce.

Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in the world, so he continued, "We're extremely happy to be working with them to obtain a beautiful area in the terminal for an additional lounge."

So what can we anticipate?
Customers will expect unparalleled dining and drinking experiences in addition to "sweeping vistas of the airfield," according to Joyce.

According to Executive Traveler, Phil Capps, the carrier's executive manager of product and service, regular Qantas passengers can anticipate even more of what the airline already provides so well: "We know that every one of our lounges draws from a consistent Qantas DNA, so you've got similarities in the experience.
The service, the physical design, and the food and drink are all partially to blame for that."

"We are now making plans for where and how much area we will need to purchase for the lounge.
After that, we'll gradually go over the design concept with the architects and designers.

The $100 million investment in the airline's global lounge assets includes the construction now taking place at its Hong Kong lounge in preparation for its grand reopening next month. The new T3 First Lounge is one of these assets.

In addition, its corporate lounges in Sydney and Melbourne will undergo significant renovations, with each receiving an additional 600 seats and a capacity boost of up to 40%.
