Hong Kong removes more COVID-19 travel restrictions

NEWS - 30-12-2022

Hong Kong, a popular tourist destination in Asia, is relaxing further COVID-19 limitations.
The city is becoming more alluring for tourists to visit once more as a result of the most recent reforms, including American tourists.

In the past, visitors had to pass several COVID-19 tests in order to enter.
According to a press statement from the Hong Kong government, new tourists arriving by plane will just need to receive a negative test within a predetermined time before scheduled departure for Hong Kong as of December 29, 2022.
In particular, Hong Kong will accept either a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test or a rapid antigen test (RAT) within 48 hours before departure.

Travelers should preserve "photographs displaying the test results or the test report for 90 days for presentation for checking on request by Government authorities," according to the press release.
Using the electronic health declaration form provided by the HSKAR Department of Health to report your test results is no longer required.
Though some airlines might still ask for it at check-in, you might wish to submit your results nevertheless to acquire the QR code.

Hong Kong is getting rid of its vaccine pass and stopping to insure temporary vaccine passes for tourists.
But 12 years of age and older non-Hong Kong residents still need to provide proof of vaccination before boarding a trip to Hong Kong.

According to a news release published in September by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, travelers in transit who do not pass through immigration control are exempt from vaccination requirements and temperature checks.
Finally, Hong Kong is maintaining its prior masking regulations.
For instance, the South China Morning Post reports that masks are still needed in all public areas, including public transportation.
