Inside the Gulfstream G700, a $75 million private aircraft that can travel from New York to India

NEWS - 28-11-2022

My breath caught on the newest Gulfstream aircraft.

The ultra-luxurious private aircraft maker in Savannah, Georgia, has unveiled a new flagship model that it intends to certify with the Federal Aviation Administration in the near future.

The Gulfstream G700 is the new flagship, and it is simple to understand why.

The G700 is one of the bigger jets on the market, with accommodation for up to 19 passengers—13 of whom can sleep—and enough room for them to all be seated.
A bed and even a shower were present in the Gulfstream G700 that I entered.

At Orlando, Florida's National Business Aviation Association Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in October, the $75 million private plane stole the show.

Check out this amazing new jet in further detail.

It can easily fly a distance.

The G700 is anticipated to have a range of 7,500 nautical miles when traveling at Mach.85-85% of the speed of sound with a significantly decreased load of eight passengers and four crew (remember, the G700 can seat as many as 19 passengers).

The G700 can carry more fuel by reducing the number of passengers as long as it doesn't exceed the aircraft's maximum takeoff weight, which is 107,600 pounds for the math nerds.

(However, if you're pressed for time, the plane can fly at speeds between Mach 0.925 and 92.5 percent of the speed of sound.
When traveling at that pace, the range is reduced since the increased speed uses more fuel.)

This is the view of that 7,500 nautical mile range from Teterboro Airport (TEB), in Teterboro, New Jersey, which is located just outside of New York City.

The G800, a little smaller aircraft with an 8,000 nautical mile range at Mach 0.85, will be the only model in Gulfstream's product line to outperform the G700 in terms of range.
(The G800's maximum takeoff weight is only 2,000 pounds less than the G700's, but it sacrifices cargo for a longer range and can carry a maximum of 15 passengers.)

Gulfstream attended the NBAA-BACE meeting with the first G800 aircraft, which had a test-instrument-filled unfinished interior.
After the G700, the FAA is anticipated to certify it.

Many possibilities for seating

Of course, there will be a lot of customization options when you buy a $75 million jet.

The seating, which can be arranged in many ways, is what stands out the most.
While an individual owner may prioritize something lower-density that prioritizes comfort over capacity (it's all relative — I'd take the highest capacity G700 over flying commercial any day), a corporation purchasing a G700 to use as a company jet may be more interested in a higher-density configuration.

N702GD, the plane I saw, was divided into several halves.

A pair of club seats were located in the first row of this aircraft, and they could be used for meetings, work, or meals thanks to a tray table that unfolds from the side panel.

Additionally, these seats can be made into beds.

Cupholders, wireless Qi charging, and window controls are all included in the armrests.

The aircraft's next portion had a divan that could also be used as a bed.
The divan has seatbelts, allowing passengers to sit in it during the taxi, takeoff, and landing.

In the entertainment area across from the divan is a TV that can be folded down.

Owners are free to play any content they like on the TV and can even set up their preferred streaming service to use the G700's built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.
This specific plane was set up for Apple TV.

There is wine storage inside the entertainment center for people who would like to drink while watching a movie.

Six people can fit in the next area of seating, which has three seats across and built-in tables.
The private stateroom is next, and it is set apart from the rest of the aircraft by a bulkhead with a pocket door that slides open.
The G700 can include a bed because of its extensive range.

Another TV, which can be programmed to display anything, is located at the foot of the bed and is currently showing flight information.

A built-in credenza with padding was located across the aisle from the bed.

The restroom is located behind a further bulkhead with more pocket doors.

Although it was an uncommon addition to a Gulfstream, this G700 had a shower for VIP passengers to use after a long journey.

The vanity mirror and the toilet seat are intended to be used together as a seat.

There are lots of mirrors and storage space beside the sink.
This plane has a white countertop finish, but an owner would have access to a wide range of custom alternatives.

A customizable galley

The galley can be customized, just like just much everything else.

This plane included ovens, a bar, and other creature luxuries.

Owners can even add their preferred espresso machine to the galley.

One of the configurable layouts provides for a lavatory in the forward area of the aircraft, in addition to the aft — allowing for complete privacy for those who are lucky enough to be able to use the stateroom.

In conclusion

The Gulfstream G700 will soon take to the skies, and it will be a crucial addition to Gulfstream's fleet of luxurious, custom private planes.
This $75 million plane offers its wealthy owners the best of both worlds with a roomy cabin and a significant range.

Even though I don't have any flights on the G700 scheduled in the near future, taking a trip in one of these amazing aircraft has been put on my wish list.
It was amazing just to enter it while it was on a static exhibit.
