My favorite winter amenity has just returned at this airport; I wish more would follow

NEWS - 03-01-2023

I used to fly down to Naples, Florida to visit my godmother back in the day to escape the chilly winters in Washington, D.C.
Because it was so chilly, I always had to drag my winter coat with me at the start and finish of the journey.
Because everyone wants to escape the cold and winter for the warmth and temperatures in the 80s, my Florida flights were always crowded, and the overhead bins were no exception.
I occasionally had to sit or wear my coat due to a shortage of room.
Every time I did that, I pondered the lack of coat check services at airports for snowbirds like me.

It's a good thing Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) heard my cries.
The airport's coat check service is being offered for a fourth year due to high demand.
Locals traveling to warmer climates can check their outerwear for just $2 per day or $10 per trip within the Summerfest Marketplace's pre-security area thanks to a partnership with airport concessionaire Paradies Lagardère.
.

Because of this, you may now travel to warm-weather destinations without bringing your heavy coat, bulky gloves, and other unnecessary items.
It eliminates the difficulty of attempting to cram your winter coat into your luggage.
It makes room in airline overhead bins available.
Additionally, it prevents you from appearing ridiculous when you step off the plane in Cancun wearing a T-shirt, shorts, flip-flops, and a big puffy coat.

This winter, Milwaukee will provide nonstop service to places in Florida, Arizona, California, Mexico, and the Caribbean, making this coat check service practical for tourists.
In 2020, the airport advocacy group Airports Council International-North America honored Milwaukee's airport for this special service.

The service has never just been provided by this airport.
Additionally, those departing for warm-weather vacations from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) are permitted to leave their winter outerwear at home.
At Frankfurt Airport's Terminal 1, Concourse B, the airport charges about 50 cents per day, per item, from October to April for storing jackets and coats next to the luggage storage service (arrivals).
JetBlue provided a coat check service at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City for a brief while in 2014. (JFK).

We can only hope that a more condensed version of it returns and more airports provide coat check services.
