Now, when you purchase Starbucks coffee, you can accrue Delta SkyMiles.

NEWS - 13-10-2022

Now, your next cup of coffee can bring you one step nearer to a getaway.

Members of the loyalty programs of both companies can now double dip while collecting points and take advantage of other benefits, according to a new agreement launched by Delta Air Lines and Starbucks on Wednesday.

Members residing in the US can link their Delta SkyMiles and Starbucks Rewards accounts as of October 12.
Once your accounts are connected, every dollar you spend at Starbucks on eligible purchases will earn you one SkyMile.
Additionally, Starbucks purchases on days when you have a planned flight with Delta will earn you twice as many Stars.

You should be aware that eligible purchases are those made at participating Starbucks locations, which may be located via the company's shop locator. These purchases must be made of food, beverages, or goods.
Alcoholic beverages do not count toward the partnership's bonus mile or star requirements, nor do purchases of Starbucks gift cards.

In addition to the benefits associated with reciprocal earning, Delta is introducing 4,000 Starbucks Stars as a new Choice Benefit for Diamond and Platinum Medallions.
This adds to the recently updated award choices that were presented last week, which also included a rise to Medallion Qualification Dollars and a statement credit with a cobranded American Express brand.
As a result of this modification, no Choice Benefits are being altered or withdrawn.

We do not have an official valuation for Starbucks Stars, despite publishing monthly point valuations for the majority of the big airline, hotel, and credit card loyalty currencies.

Nevertheless, the prices for redeeming Stars depend on the product you want to buy.
Free brewed hot coffee, baked goods, and hot tea can be obtained with 50 stars, however personalized drinks, hot breakfast dishes, and parfaits cost 150 stars each.

You'll probably value Stars differently depending on how much coffee you drink each day and how often you redeem.
Therefore, do your math before exchanging a Choice Benefit for Starbucks Stars.

You can start the account connecting process by going to either starbucksdelta.com or deltastarbucks.com.
The businesses are also running a few short-term specials to raise awareness and encourage participation.

You can earn 500 SkyMiles by linking your accounts between October 12 and December 31. You can also earn 150 Stars by making a qualifying purchase at Starbucks.
A "Star Card" with 150 Stars will also be given to every Delta customer leaving Seattle on October 12 so they may use it to get a free beverage at their next Starbucks visit.

In conclusion

This is the newest loyalty arrangement that enables Delta SkyMiles members to double their points on regular, non-flight purchases.
Instacart, a well-known online grocery delivery service, joined forces with the Atlanta-based airline earlier this year to offer its customers the chance to earn SkyMiles for their purchases.

Additionally, users continue to receive at least 1 SkyMile for every dollar spent on rides thanks to the carrier's long-standing deal with Lyft.
Airbnb and Turo are two other SkyMiles alliances that could be financially rewarding.

Even though many of these commonplace actions may not immediately result in a long-haul Delta One ticket (especially given the airline's exorbitant mileage redemption rates), earning 1 SkyMile is still better than nothing.

Additionally, if you use one of our suggested credit cards for dining and restaurants, you'll continue to earn bonus points on dining expenses in addition to SkyMiles and Starbucks Stars on coffee purchases.

This will help you move closer to your upcoming vacation because it, together with the new Delta connection, effectively turns your Starbucks purchases into a triple dipping chance.
