A free helicopter transport service between Manhattan and the airport will soon be available to certain of JetBlue's most frequent travellers.
JetBlue's TrueBlue loyalty club members will be able to take advantage of free and discounted helicopter flights thanks to a new relationship that Blade and JetBlue announced on Thursday.
Additionally, Blade introduced a new route: nonstop airport service between its lounge on 34th Street on Manhattan's East Side and JFK, JetBlue's primary hub in New York.
Between JFK and Blade's lounge on the West Side, a continuous service already exists.
According to Blade, certain Mosaic+ members of JetBlue's temporary highest TrueBlue tier can anticipate "limited" free seats between Manhattan and the airport.
It wasn't immediately clear which Mosaic+ subscribers would be qualified for the free transfer service.
On a Blade flight to the airport, other TrueBlue members should anticipate a more modest discount.
As we have increased our Blade Airport service to six days per week and up to thirteen hours per day in New York City, Blade President Melissa Tomkiel said in a statement that JetBlue is an excellent partner given its New York City roots.
According to a statement from JetBlue, the alliance will significantly benefit its customers.
Chris Buckner, vice president of loyalty and partnerships at JetBlue, stated, "We realize the JetBlue trip starts long before our customers walk aboard one of our flights, which is why we are making more of the entire travel experience even easier and even more rewarding."
"This collaboration with Blade will help us develop and improve our TrueBlue program so that our most devoted clients may take advantage of additional benefits more frequently."
For JetBlue, the new alliance with Blade makes sense for its most devoted passengers.
Of all American airlines, JetBlue boasts one of the best business-class offerings but noticeably lacks any lounges for finest business class.
These clients will be able to make the most of their stay in the city and spend less time at the airport by taking advantage of the helicopter transfers.
