Soon, you might receive a Jaguar transfer to your upcoming United flight.

NEWS - 27-10-2022

Although Jaguar is now United Airlines' new tarmac transportation partner, the airline is still best recognized for operating Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

A fleet of 2023 Jaguar I-PACE electric SUVs for tarmac transfers will be part of the Chicago-based carrier's expanded cooperation with the British automaker, which was announced on Wednesday.

The airline's hub at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) will launch the Jaguar transfers this month, and by year's end, they will be available in hubs in Denver, Houston, Newark, Washington Dulles, San Francisco, and Los Angeles as well.

These SUVs are anticipated to transport more than 1,000 United passengers everyday and make an estimated 60 trips daily.

Now, you're undoubtedly interested in learning how to obtain this chic tarmac transfer.
Unfortunately, United doesn't make public the requirements for obtaining one of these luxurious rides.

The airline refers to this as a "surprise benefit" that is provided to specific Premier members with close connections.
The only way you'll be aware of the transfer is if you spot your name on a sign in the jetbridge as you're getting off the plane.

This advantage has often only been available to Global Services members who have been invited as well as other high-value travelers who run the risk of missing a crucial connection.

The "first gate-to-gate airport transfer service powered by an all-electric fleet in the U.S." is how United is marketing this new partnership.

While it is true that the airline is utilizing Jaguar's all-electric fleet to traverse the airport taxiways, all three of the main U.S. airlines have previously provided this perk using gas-powered vehicles on a surprise-and-delight basis.

While Delta Air Lines continues to provide Porsche rides to chosen top-tier Medallions on tight connections, United formerly worked with Mercedes-Benz for tarmac transfers.

In order to conduct SUV tarmac transfers, American Airlines used to collaborate with Cadillac, but it currently has a relationship with Avis.

A MileagePlus partnership with Jaguar was just announced by United in addition to tarmac transfers.
Flyers who buy or lease a new Jaguar car will be eligible to receive up to 50,000 bonus miles as part of the agreement.
