Southwest Airlines expands its booking calendar through November by adding 4 new destinations.

NEWS - 10-03-2023

Southwest Airlines will expand its booking calendar into November by adding four new weekend-only routes.

Southwest will expand in Long Beach, California, where the carrier will provide service to the Pacific Northwest, and Kansas City, Missouri, where the carrier will add two new international routes.

The busiest airport in its network, Denver International Airport (DEN), will see an expansion of Southwest's schedule as well.
Southwest's schedule will expand to 310 departures each weekday in October, an increase of seven daily departures from its present timetable, but it won't add any new destinations.

Regarding the new flights, both Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, will have nonstop service from Kansas City International Airport (MCI).
Starting on October 7 and with one round-trip flight per Saturday, service on both routes will be seasonal.

Southwest states that the opening of the airport's brand-new, cutting-edge terminal last week coincides with the arrival of its new routes to Kansas City.

Southwest will expand its service at Long Beach Airport to additional western locations (LGB). Beginning on October 7, flights will operate on both Saturdays and Sundays to Boise and Portland, Oregon.

The adjustments to the route map come as Southwest has extended its booking period through November 4. Southwest's booking window is extended by one month, but the majority of major U.S. airlines publish their schedules around 11 months in advance.
